Technical Project Engineer - Hiring by Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Rencol Ltd. /in United Kingdom

Responsible to: Product Manager – Hard Disk Drive

Main purpose:
• To provide technical, commercial and engineering sales support on projects, as allocated, and to manage resultant projects from enquiry through to successful conclusion.

Opportunity for successful candidate:
The successful candidate will have to work and be trained for a period of 12-18 months at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Rencol Ltd. in United Kingdom, in our Hard Disk Drive Business prior to relocation permanently based in Thailand.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• To liaise with Sales, Technical, and the customer, to establish performance criteria for new projects as allocated.
• To generate project design proposals, product and application designs, castings, and quotations based on customer requirements and Recoil design, manufacturing and technical input.
• To manage the resultant projects through the Recoil project system, from initial enquiry through prototype and sample production, product testing and further development phases through to introduction to production.
• To liaise as appropriate with relevant departments, drawing on product design and manufacture expertise and taking account of all relevant input, ensuring agreed activities are progressed to plan.
• To maintain project records and project activities through use of the project database.
• To become, and to remain, technically ‘expert’ in the field of tolerance rings and any other products the company develops.
• To adopt a proactive approach to all aspects of project progression, liaising as appropriate with the customer and as agreed with the Technical or Sales Directors.
• Build relationships with customers, contacts and distributors/agents, maintaining close contact and participating in relevant internal/external sales meetings and training programs as appropriate.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Company.

Qualification:
• Male/female
• Degree from Mechanical Engineering **
• A new or relatively new graduate preferably with at least industrial experience arising from an engineering work placement. **
• Available to travel overseas from time to time **
• Good for command in ENG **
